Ninite, an easy way to Update or Install Software

Ninite, a freeware utility, can cut hours off software re-installation time when you reformat a disk, do a clean install, or start a new system. It is essentially a tiny installer that will automatically manage and download other freeware packages.  Available for Windows and, more recently, Ubuntu 8 and higher, it automatically hunts for and installs free utilities like DropBox and 7-Zip to recently reformatted or new systems.

“Ninite doesn’t support adware or other ad supported junk either,” says Jeremy Lesniak, founder of VAR consultancy Vermont Computing in Duxbury, VT.

USB Disk Manager

USB Disk Manager is small and easy to configure Windows utility which helps you use your USB disks more securely.

Now a days one of the most common way of the software virus infection and spread is through the use of USB disks i.e. the virus tries to automatically copy itself to and from the USB disks to the host machine. USB Disk Manager helps you avoid these situations by making the write projecting the USB Disks so that virus can't copy itself to new USB Flash disks, and also disables execution of the virus files directly from the USB disks thus avoiding the automatically copying and spreading of the viruses from the USB disks to your machine.

Mouse Gestures For Better Productivity

Mouse gestures are specific movements that are recognized and translated into quick actions, like forward and backward browsing or opening a program, and more.

StrokesPlus is a free mouse gesture recognition program similar to StrokeIt. It is written in native Win32/x64 and does not require a hefty runtime like .NET, it only consumes 250-500k of RAM while running, utilizes Lua scripting for actions and provides a great deal of power and flexibility. For common day to day use, the default 50 actions that come with StrokesPlus is more than sufficient.
